We follow immersion concept. Immersive learning allows children to explore real-world scenarios or ideas in a safe and controlled environment. For one thing, immersive learning technique allows children to learn more naturally. it helps them better connect with the material they are studying.
Learning using immersive technique typically develops greater cognitive flexibility, encourages increased attention control, promotes better memory, and ensures superior problem solving skills as well as an enhanced understanding of the learner's primary language.
Our curriculum is theme-based and interwoven across 8 learning areas. Our teachers use the curriculum as the basis for planning all children's learning experiences. A number of activities are provided, including teacher-led activities and opportunities for child-initiated learning., please click on the corresponding link for more details.
Our learning framework
We focus on bilingual education. We are convinced that bi-/multilingualism promotes tolerance for people of other cultures or those who speak different languages. In addition, multilingual children are linguistically and cognitively more capable in the long term. Our children experience both English and Kiswahili as a natural part of everyday life at the daycare centre.
Our staff consists of native Swahili and English-speaking educators who work together to implement our bilingual programme. All members of our staff are professionally trained. They are qualified pedagogical staff, who accompany, support, and enhance the learning of the children in their care.
In our Kita, the complete acceptance of each child is the highest guiding principle of our pedagogy. We consider individual children together with their families, cultural and social background, strengths and weaknesses and special interests and needs as at the centre of our work. We want to support every child holistically with all of their strengths and potential for development, helping them to develop and educate themselves personally, socially and academically.
We see children as largely independent and constantly developing and learning individuals to whom we must respond individually. We place the individual child at the centre of our care, upbringing and education.
